How the Weir meter fills up
A personal meter that fills as you play, with four marks along the way. Here is exactly how it works.
The Weir is one of the four corners of the Holt, and the one people ask us about most. It is a meter that belongs to your account alone, and it fills a little every time you play a round. Here is the whole of it, with nothing left out.
How it fills
Every round you play adds 2% of the Pebbles you played to your Weir. A spin of 100 Pebbles adds 2; a spin of 500 adds 10. It does not matter which game you choose or how the round turned out: only the amount you played counts. Demo play does not fill the Weir, because nothing in demo mode is saved.
The four marks
The meter has four marks. Each time it reaches the next one, you can collect Pebbles in the Holt:
- First mark, 2,000: collect 1,000 Pebbles.
- Second mark, 6,000: collect 2,500 Pebbles.
- Third mark, 15,000: collect 6,000 Pebbles.
- Fourth mark, 40,000: collect 15,000 Pebbles.
Each mark is measured from where the last one left off. When you collect, the mark's amount comes off the meter and anything above it carries over towards the next mark. After the fourth mark, the meter starts again from the first.
To reach the first mark you would play 100,000 Pebbles in total, so the Weir builds up gently over many visits. It is something to notice along the way, not something to chase in one sitting.
What the Weir is not
We built the Weir as a personal meter on purpose. It is not a shared pot: nobody else's play adds to it or takes from it, and there is no draw to decide who receives anything. It never empties on its own while you are away; your fill simply waits until you come back.
Like everything else on Brooksmissy, the Pebbles it hands out have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred or exchanged.
Where to see it
Your Weir is always visible in the player bar at the bottom of the screen, and in full on the Weir page in the Holt, where you collect when a mark is reached. If you have not joined yet, an account is free and starts with 25,000 Pebbles.
